Sollicitude

Sollicitude

With a still presence, I feel a heartbreaking

peace and a strange relief,

yet anxiety fades softly inside my chest

Breathing,

dreams from a prayer

resurrect an understanding

She frantically drifts

from love to indifference,

as if they belong

Blindly grasping for a self

in the mirror between her hands,

pretending

reflection,

bias,

avoidance

She forgets

no one is fighting

To see it otherwise

has always seemed

an underdeveloped connection

to sapience

An inherited,

hereditary emptiness

I guard

the child not yet born,

tethered

to another child

apprehension

inside her

Desecration

Love

the beautifully bloody heart

of youth

My dear,

distraction

is a silly masquerade
